The Somalia National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA), under the guidance of the Minister of Health and Human Services, is pleased to announce that its official website and Regulatory Information Management System (RIMS) have been formally published and are now live and publicly accessible.
RIMS is fully operational. All pharmaceutical establishments, importers, distributors, manufacturers and other relevant stakeholders are encouraged to create user accounts and submit electronic applications for:
- Establishment licensing.
- Listing of medicines and health products.
- Product registration through full dossier evaluation.
- Other available regulatory services.
All foreign companies seeking to place their products on the Somali market shall appoint an authorized Local Trade Representative based in Somalia. The representative shall serve as the official regulatory liaison with the NMRA and support product applications, regulatory communications and applicable post-market obligations.
This information of the website and RIMS represents an important step in implementing Somalia’s regulatory measures and improving the efficiency, transparency and accessibility of medicines regulatory services.

- Visit www.nmra.gov.so.
- Select Online Services at the top of the website.
- Create a user account and follow the application instructions.
Applicants may also access RIMS directly through the NMRA Regulatory Portal.
